Remote Monitoring & Data Services

Remote monitoring and data services

TERRASENSE can connect compatible geotechnical and structural instruments to data loggers, telemetry and web-based monitoring so project teams can access measurements, dashboards, reports and configured notifications remotely.
Remote monitoring can combine instrumentation, telemetry, data access, reporting and support as the project requires.
REMOTE MONITORING CAPABILITIES

What TERRASENSE can support

  • Instrumentation and data-logger integration
  • Telemetry and site communications
  • Monitoring platform coordination
  • Dashboards, reporting and configured notifications
  • Remote configuration where supported
  • Maintenance and technical support
System design begins with the measurements and project outputs, then matches suitable logging, communications and platform options.
FIELD LAYER
Sensors and data acquisition
CONNECTION LAYER
LoRa/LoRaWAN, cellular or satellite where suitable
INFORMATION LAYER
Platform access, reporting and notifications
MONITORING PATHWAY

From field instruments to usable project information

Remote monitoring combines three parts: acquiring measurements in the field, transmitting data through a suitable communications path, and presenting information through a monitoring platform.
01 / FIELD

Instrumentation & acquisition

Supported logger interfaces can include vibrating wire, RS485/Modbus, analogue and digital inputs. The selected logger and configuration depend on the instruments and monitoring objective.
02 / CONNECTION

Telemetry & communications

Supported communications can include LoRa/LoRaWAN, cellular and satellite pathways. The suitable option depends on site coverage, power and network availability.
03 / INFORMATION

Platform & outputs

Web-based monitoring can provide dashboards, graphs, tables, site or GIS views, scheduled reports, data summaries and configured notifications. Retention and licensing depend on the selected platform.

DATA SERVICES

Data access, reporting and support

Depending on the system, TERRASENSE can configure services including:
  • Web-based data access and project-specific dashboards
  • Scheduled reports, data summaries and trend analysis
  • Email and SMS notifications for configured conditions
  • Remote changes to logging or communications settings where supported
  • Diagnostics, maintenance and technical support within the service
SYSTEM CONDITIONS

Conditions that affect remote monitoring

Power, communications, platform services and notification delivery affect how a remote monitoring system performs. These conditions are confirmed for the selected system rather than treated as universal.

Connectivity and power. Data transmission depends on the selected communications path, site coverage and power availability.

Platform and licensing. Hosting, software and telemetry licences vary by platform and may be project-based or recurring.

Service continuity. Maintenance, communications outages, power failures or other technical issues can interrupt remote monitoring.

Notifications. Email and SMS notifications are best-effort and depend on third-party telecommunications and internet services; they should not be treated as guaranteed alarms.

Data retention and ownership. Retention follows platform capability and project terms. Monitoring data remains the client’s property unless otherwise agreed.

Engineering interpretation. Monitoring data is measured information. Interpretation is a separate service unless specifically engaged; final engineering design decisions and certification remain with the client’s nominated engineer or consultant.

Platform option. MissionOS (Maxwell GeoSystems) is one platform that may be supported where it suits the project and selected system. Platform references do not imply an authorised partnership or universal compatibility.

DELIVERY MODEL

Coordinated turnkey monitoring service

A turnkey scope combines instrumentation supply with installation, commissioning, data access, reporting, notifications and ongoing support as agreed for the project.

Coordinated monitoring scope

A coordinated monitoring scope can combine instrumentation, telemetry, platform access, reporting, notification configuration and ongoing support. Field services remain subject to project location, scope and logistics.

Discuss your remote monitoring requirements

Start with what you need to monitor and how you want to use the information. Site details, connectivity, platform and reporting requirements can be worked through during the project discussion.
